Subsequently, he pursued two theater related degrees, a BS in Speech Communications & Theater from Tennessee State University and a MFA in Acting from Rutgers, Mason Gross School of the Arts.
He has taught Acting, Directing, Playwriting and Public Speaking for the last 20 years, on both the collegiate and secondary school level; conducted communication workshops for corporations, universities, organizations and churches. Mr. Miller has also written and performed numerous speeches and spoken-word poems and performed in or directed several theater productions.
Mr. Miller's primary objective as an artist/educator is to foster in others both self-awareness and a greater understanding of the human condition. He believes meaningful, technically sound public speaking, acting or speech instruction equips clients to both perform at high levels as well as display clearer comprehension of themselves.
He is most concerned with speakers and actors delivering authenticity on stage or on screen. Therefore, his work pushes the speaker and actor to develop a strong sense of truth. Moreover, realizing analysis and interpretation precede strong performance, he trains speakers to effectively score and interpret their speeches and actors to bravely connect with other actors and the circumstances of their scripts. Lastly, Mr. Miller is also invested in the development and use of both precise diction and a natural, confident, and compelling voice.
